Adding Bt Sport to Sky TV
This seems worty of its own thread as im sure with the new deal quite a few of us are looking into this

It looks as though you have to do it through BT therefore the ability to haggle with Sky has gone.

Has anyone found a cheap way to do it ?

Get BT Internet then you get it free

I think you have to do it through BT so you can't haggle with them. Wouldn't be surprised if eventually they teamed up and a sports package ends up costing £50 a month!

Re: Adding Bt Sport to Sky TV
Am currently looking into this myself.

I have had a full Sky subscription for the past 23 years, and around five years or so back added in their broadband and telephone options, too.

All of this led to a monthly cost of £110. However, the broadband is diabolically slow, so having received some literature from Virgin about their packages with BT Sport and fibre optic broadband included, I gave Sky a call with a view to fucking 'em off.

Across two phone calls, they agreed top upgrade my broadband to their fibre optic service free of charge, installed a multi room box in the bedroom again, free of charge, and dropped the cost of the full subscription to £75 a month.

The only thing they couldn't give me was the BT Sport package as they can't negotiate over something they don't own.

However, that's £19.99 per month, so I'm signing up for this too, and will still be up on the deal I had previously, happy days...

'and dropped the cost of the full subscription to £75 a month'

Still getting royally ripped off. They're giving people 65% discounts for annual subs now when they leave. I got 60% off mine and pay £39 for the full whack and multiroom.

Re: Adding Bt Sport to Sky TV
Does that include broadband and telephones, Buster?

I ask as this has only just gone in and I have a 28 day cooling period where I can cancel or try to renegotiate...

Forgot to add, guaranteed no increase for five years, too...

No but broadband is £10 a month and phone £15 or so a month line rental for Sky customers so I'd still expect a lot less than £75 a month. I got a £50 credit too.

Someone posted on here yesterday I think that the offer is now 65% off for a year. They're losing customers hand over fist so are practically begging people to stay/rejoin.

The way to do it is to be prepared to actually cancel. Last year I got a 50% offer through two weeks after disconnection, this time I got my 60% offer a week before they even cancelled it.

Gloucester

You should have got it all from Virgin. Best place to get all the sports, the internet is miles better than anyone and the TIVO box is incredible.

Few mates have it, im gutted that i don't live in a cabled area.

Has anyone managed to get just Sky Sports price down?
I'm thinking of getting it added back to my Sky subscription, but the £22 a month can bore right off.

Thanks, chaps...

To be honest Logo, I really was tempted by Virgin.

The only thing that really persuaded me to stay with sky and negotiate was the fact that subsequently talking about it to a couple of mates who made the switch, they both had major problems with their box...

anyway, I'll have a look again later and will give them a bell. It was only plumbed in last Saturday, so have plenty of time to still cancel...

I've tried TiVO boxes twice and just never got on with them. Can't beat a Sky box.

If you got plusnet broadband (or know someone with it) you can add BT Sports to any Sky box for £10 a month

Virgin Big Daddy all channels inc BT etc, internet, phone line plus line rental is £70 per month

after 6 months goes up to £121.49

Can Sky beat that?

Re: Adding Bt Sport to Sky TV
As of today, I pay £59 a month for everything (except BT Sport) with Sky - fibre broadband, phone, all TV. I was paying £45 until a couple of months ago!

The 'Champions' League is painfully boring to watch, so I won't be doing this.

That's all.

I'm thinking of getting it added back to my Sky subscription, but the £22 a month can bore right off.

Bell - was on the phone to sky this morning and got my sports pack for half price for the year and a reduction on my standard viewing package.

Was on the phone for about 30 minutes but was ultimately worth the effort.

Was also trying to get a new box out of them ( have been with sky for 10 or more years) but the best I could do was a free engineer visit next week to check the box.
